    Thanks for the comments everyone.

John: thanks for the info on the filter. I noticed you mention this in another thread recently. I'll have a look for sources in the UK.

Joel:thanks for the reply. It's useful info since I've been considering acquiring a 500mm lens when funds permit.

Pat: I agree with Brant (Kayaker) - no need to apologise for your backlog of processing, there's no time limit in this thread.

Ah great! Since you're mentioning this. My girlfriend and I were digging through the pile of holiday photos yesterday and here's two that I'd like to share. The intention is that we're done digging through all of them by the end of the week...fingers crossed, but it's about time

These two photos were shot at the Vøringsfossen, a big waterfall in Norway. Well it's actually one very big waterfall which falls so hard that it's pushing another smaller waterfall on the other side back up again, which creates a huge amount of waterdroplets, which in order can create a nice rainbow.

My girlfriend is sitting half a meter off the edge were there's a 180m drop down. I also took a shot holding my camera over the edge and it was sketchy Later that day we hiked down towards the waterfall, which was also great. Perhaps I'll share that later on

I was wondering when we would be treated to some more of your shots from this trip, Jan. I love the composition of #1 with your 'pot of gold' at the end of the rainbow.

    Great fall colors.
How do you post an image this large? All mine are small thumbs and when you click to enlarge, they look soft.

Basicalluy I copy and past from flickr.
In flickr I right mouse click on an opened picture which brings up the viewable sizes. Click on medium 640 size. When it comes up, then right mouse click on it and click copy from the pop up menu. Then just right mouse click in your forum reply and paste it in.

Nice color on those trees and in the reflection Pat! But how in the world are there no leaves floating on the water?

It was still early enough in the fall season that the leaves were still staying on the trees. There are no leaves left around here anymore though.
