@Chad - That is a wonderful capture of your son! Very cute little boy!

Well, even though we have been havig some very unseasonably warm weather so far this winter and our first snowfall is finally happening tomorrow, the winter duldrums are still starting to set in ...or maybe it is the unemployed duldrums!

Anyway, its been awhile since I put my flashes to work & I thought a few flower shots might be in order before the blizzard hits ...

I was bored yesterday, so I asked one of Wifey's dolls to pose for me. She kindly agreed.

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to go for a ride in a helicopter. I was billed as the "trip photographer" (not meant for scenic shots, but we were doing some survey work and needed some pictures to support the routing of a proposed road.) My first trip in a helicopter so I was thrilled to get the chance! Here are a few shots. Not the greatest, but I was fighting the glare/reflection off the windows as it was just a bit too cold (-12degC or 10degF) to open the windows for pictures!

Some nice pictures on this thread lately.

Denise - I really like the Rose.

M_Six - Your model seems a little stiff.

Stephen - The helicopter ride would be really cool (especially if you opened the window)... lucky guy.

She's not known for her versatility. But she does have that look.

A few deer shots from today. At least the grass didn't get in the way of all of them!

Nice helicopter shots and Denise your stuff gets better and better.
Here is an edited shot I took of someone I stopped and asked if I could take their photo, she was less nervous about it than I was.

Steve - I like it. I have never been able to do that (walk up to them ask to take their pic).

Wonderful shot, Steve!! I wish I could work up the courage to ask people if I could take their photo! The b&w on this one looks really good!

Today was a really dark, gloomy day so this shot is much noisier than I would like. Also, the deer are really starting to get too close for my comfort! I have gotten pretty freaked out a few times by mama deer coming at me a tad too quickly! From now on though, I think I need to bring much shorter lenses!

Biodiversity Portal of Singapore has asked me to put one of my other deer photos on their website. Only problem is, I have to include text about white-tailed deer (200 words or less). Guess I better brush up on my knowledge of them other than that they like to get their pictures taken ...LOL!

When you are good looking and friendly it's easy to go up to strangers and ask to take their photo.... I don't know how I get away with it.

This is the shot I started with before I gave it all that grainy B&W treatment. Did I ruin it or not?
