    iPad camera bundle

    Folks,

I'm considering an iPad purchase and saw the camera bundle from the iPad 2 still available for the new iPad (stupid naming conventions aside).

Does anyone have experience with either tethering their computer to their iPad or using the SD card reader?

edit: never mind with 2 Eye-Fi cards, it appears that iOS devices can run an app to accomplish just this with one card. However, I'm still curious about using regular SD cards in the reader.

edit 2: more importantly, can you push pictures back onto the SD card and free up space on the iPad and/or move pictures off easily without syncing?

    Thanks.

Using the iPad camera kit is a one way street. You can pull pictures from an SD card (or use a USB cord to pull directly from the camera), but you can't put pics back on the card. And you can't pull, say, just the JPEGs if you shoot RAW + JPEG. This is undoubtedly a software limitation that could change in the future, but it's a limitation nonetheless.

Don't suppose there are any 3rd party apps that use this accessory to provide extra storage? Apple probably won't allow such things in their playground 'cause then they can't charge $100 per bump in storage.
