Outstanding grackle pic! Are you using the 400mm f/5.6 for those?

A lot of good posts lately.
dsiegel5151 - Your shots are so sharp... the eyes look great.
I saw a Wood Duck today for about 10 seconds and pulled up and had about 2 seconds to get all the shots I was going to get. So things were not optimised and I ended up only being able to get this at ISO-3200... so it is not very sharp at all and was very noisy, but I have been looking for one of these for a while now and was happy to get such a colorful bird.

Yeah, those are all with the 400 f5.6L. It is without a doubt the sharpest lens I have.

Dsiegel,
Really nice portraits of the Grackle and Cowbird....exquisite detail and color!
There is beauty in simplicity.

Dan - Pretty difficult to get a shot of a small bird in the air... nice job.
What you are posting are large - They just show up as a thumbnail. When you double click on them they open larger. However, if you want higher resolution pictures posted, then many are posting from other sites such as Flickr, Zenfolio, or some other site that you can copy the bbc code. I am sure there are other ways also, but for me Flickr seemed easy.

Here's one from my yard set up using the 1D MKIV, 500mm + 1.4 TC, no flash, ISO 1000, 1/640 sec, f/5.6
Another stunning photo Joel. Is that background natural or did you use the Color EFX software on it?--Regardless, It is very nice
