Disk Error -36 in CS5 Extended - What does it mean?

Has anyone ever gotten this error or knows what it means ..."Disk error -36 occurred while reading or writing to a scratch disk. Sorry, the error is unrecoverable"? When this happens, my only choice is to quit the program and lose everything I had just been working on! I searched online and can't find anything on it.

Also, I have a couple plug-ins that I purchased awhile ago and all of a sudden it is asking me to enter my License number or use in demo mode. When I enter the license number, it says it is already active and I can't enter it again but yet it won't let me deactivate it because it's not active!

I know I need a new computer but HOPEFULLY that is beside the point!

Well, got it all fixed and everything is running great! Thanks to my daughter the computer geek in training!! I knew I would get some benefit out of her computer classes! Or, I think she is getting more benefit out of working on my old computer than she is her classes!

Instead of just asking her for her grades you create random "tests" like this?
She seems to do great! Good to hear so
