Outdoor temperature effect on gear - what can it handle?

I wanted to add that it was great that you realized it stopped recording.., that was very observant of you to catch that and keep going!

I was actually a pro wedding videographer (VHS videotape) when I was in college, as it was mainly on the weekends and it didn't interfere with school that much. I would monitor the video portion of the ceremony on my external mini tv monitor that was also mounted to the tripod, which was on a dolley. I would also have a wireless mic on the groom and monitor the audio portion via my headphones.

My biggest fear was that I would somehow, screw-up the ceremony!
