For this shot I really didn't have to wait too long, I just needed to wake up early. These Western Grebes winter at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Huntington Beach, CA. Their feeding frenzy usuallystarts a little bit after sunrise.[]

Yeah this is great! The color of the eyes on these birds is so vibrant. What kind of sushi is that?
