Steve it is hard to compete with your wildlife shots... but I'll use the excuse that there aren't many zombies in our neck of the woods (other than me, before I have my coffee).
We've had some nice snowfall lately, giving hope for an early start to the ski season. For me, it meant a good excuse to head out for a cruise. On the Bow Valley Parkway in Banff, I came across this friendly bull elk, who was kind enough to strike a pose.

I continued on to hike through Johnston's Canyon in the park. This place is normally jammed with people in the summertime, so I avoid it like the plague. Today, it was totally empty and about as pretty as can be.
