Yes, the 24-105mm is a great all-purpose lens. I think you'll find that your "41mm - 69mm" assessment will be backward. What will likely happen is that your 24-105 will become your default lens. You will use it from 24mm to 105mm and only take it off your body when you have specific need for super wide-angle or longer telephoto. As such, it will make the effective usefulness of your wide-angle zoom 17-23mm and your telephoto zoom 106-200mm.
