I love your dragonfly picture Denise. It's just so sharp and perfectly posed.

I spotted this emerald damselfly today while in a bird hide waiting for ospreys to appear. It was about 4 metres away, so it's taken at 600mm and heavily cropped.

Not the best shot ever, but one I'm fairly proud of: this is the first coyote I've managed to get a picture of. Found him along the beach while travelling for work. Coyotes around here are very shy and this is only the second or third one I've ever seen in the wild. Unfortunately they seem to be flourishing at the expense of other local wildlife so I suspect I may have more opportunities in the future.

+1... the glassy eyes are cool.

If this is a male, he will have a big nose to wipe when he grows up. It helps to establish the hierarchy on the beach, just like these southern elephant seals...

The male southern elephant seal grows to about five times the size of an adult female, the most extreme example of sexual dimorphism amongst mammals.

This was a case of being in the right place at the right time. The elephant seal had been dozing and lifted its head just long enough for me to compose this shot.
