    Ah, let me rephrase - I'm not sure that the 24-70mm f/4 L IS will completely supplant the 24-105mm f/4 L IS in all camera kits, but I think it's plausible.

    I think Kayaker's 1st and 3rd guesses are very good. Nikon and Sony users will need this lens. I also think Canon might just discontinue it if they want to force everyone into needing both a 24-70 and a 70-200 or 70-300.

    Or they could upgrade it and charge a lot more money.
