Love that pic! (Can you hear me now?) It tells a complete story. You can see the brain spinning trying to figure out what that thing is doing right in the picture.

    Landscape - Destruction

Saturday I had the opportunity to travel by Pilger, NE and see the devastation from the 2 EF-4 tornados that scoured the earth. They still have most of the highways closed off and are only allowing volunteers into the town. I stopped along some of the section line roads to take a couple pictures before moving on. This is the from the 2nd tornado that struck the feed lot. I attempted a panorama of 14 images to try and capture all of the damage as this moved across this area. The fire on the right is them burning the wooden debris from the trees and homes. Moving from left from the little road to right in the frame, you can see the path of dirt the tornado left as it ripped all the corn from the field.

It was really tough narrowing it down to one winner in each category!

    Landscape:

Winner: Conropl - "Cloudy Evening at Stony Lake". To walk away with this grand of a shot when it wasn't what you originally intended to capture is brilliant! Love everything about this shot!

Honorable Mention: Kayaker72 - "Full of Hot Air". Perfect composition, DOF and exposure. This is a really beautiful shot!

    Portrait:

Winner: jerrytech1 - "Can you hear me now?" A true classic shot and the b&w processing is perfect! Very nicely done!

Honorable Mention: Jayson - "Looking for Trouble". With all you went through to get this shot, you captured the boys personality perfectly in his facial expression and the title says it all! Man, can I see my son and grandson at that age in this!

    Congrats everyone!!!
