Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
My 18-55 is the non IS one, bought with my 400D many years ago. So yes, pretty old. I am happy to replace it with the current 18-55 IS if it's worth. The budged needed would be small.

As you guessed, the 17-55 is out of my budget unfortunately. The 15-85 is out of range too unfortunately. Let's say my price range now is tiny, below £150. I know it's not much but at this time this is what I would like to invest on an extra lens.

Maybe I shall go for the newest 18-55 IS, or look for non-canon alternatives?
