Thanks Jayson. I'll do my best, but lately seeing the mountains was difficult due to cloudy weather. Not to mention there isn't much snow. But all of this could change soon. I hope it will be the case, and I'll try to post a few pictures in the coming weeks.

Who knew Santa had a pick up truck? This is from a Holiday Light Show at our local garden. I'm behind processing images!

A couple more Christmas light ones.

No 1 - ISO is getting really high, but I like the path and the people walking

No 2 - A bit better technically than No 1, I like the bird with the colorful background.

I want to post a... strage "My best current shot". I mean, yes, it's a very private picture but i got no problem to share it.

The real deal is that... is not a picture taken by me, or better, is a picture taken by me to an old picture not taken by me (i was not born so...) that is slowly "dying" of age, the borders are all stretched and ruined, so i wanted to save the essence of the capture.

Those are my parents (Renato & Fiorella) during the 80's in Italy.

A recent B&H video demonstrated various single flash techniques/looks, including bare, bounced, softbox, reflective umbrella, and shoot-through umbrella. I loved the look of the shoot-through shots. Then it hit me. I have a big 5-in-1 reflector kit with a diffusion disc inside it... What if I were to shoot through that? It's not curved, but otherwise, it's the same idea...

These two shots are a single 600EX-RT, resting on the couch, optically triggered by the 7D2's pop-up flash, and shot through the diffusion disc held just outside the frame, a couple feet from the flash.

It's a pain to shoot this way, but it worked... It worked well enough convince me that I should invest in a stand and umbrella.

B&W conversion, contrast, clarity, etc. in Lightroom 5.

jamsus – Great picture of your parents. It's nice that you could save it.
David – I really like your first portrait. I hope you'll post more of them.

I had a little bit of time today to go out and take a few pictures. Enough time for my fingers to completely freeze, in fact. I didn't expect the weather to be so cold. Next time i'll take my gloves with me... The name of the mountain is "Bel Oiseau", literally "Beautiful Bird". I have no idea of the origin of the name, though.

I decided to join the local photography club. They had a still life subject shoot. Here are some interpretations from home.
