    • Please supply a title for your image.
    • This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro and any other appropriate photographic style.

This week will be judged by Jayson

A shot taken in a nice little bistrot here in Sesto Fiorentino.

Just thought I'd put up something a little different for a change. More of a shot playing with different ideas.

Wow. That is beautiful. Hard to see a sky like that with all the city lights.

Thanks Pat, with the naked eye it looked mostly like clouds moving around. (just a hint of green) This required 2 shots one exposed for the city and one for the sky.

Same night about 2hrs later outside the city.

My pick for Winner of the Week is Dave (Kombi) with this shot. It is a lovely shot in the first place of a beautiful city, but add in the aurora and it is wall worthy. Only thing I think might improve the photo would be to pull back the highlights on the city itself. It is a fabulous shot I could only dream about taking. I really liked JRW's shot, but there was some green reflection on the object that I couldn't get past. It is still an outstanding photo.

    Thank you Jayson.
I agree City is still over exposed. But honestly was so excited to capture aurora I didn't focus as much time as I should have on city.

As a side note, I've been trying to get that shot for the last 3 years.

June 30 2013-- I was proud of this at the time- Glad to see that I am getting better. (soon as you make image bigger it looses any sense of sharpness.
