Thanks! I don't know much about birds--another tourist was calling it an eagle.

The change in post was pushing the Adobe Camera Raw to high "clarity" then boosting contrast, vibrance and saturation , then adjusting exposure up again after those changes. Otherwise the canyon was very dim.
