    Joel, can we assume that this was natural leafy background?
    When I first saw it I thought you were in a halloween spirit and created a background.
    It is an interesting color.

    Yes....maple leaves...the tree is probably 75 yards behind the setup so it is completely blurred out by BOKEH.

    I make an effort to place my perches and my camera position in such a way that the subject will line up with a clean background using the surroundings....I don't create the background...but I take advantage of what is there.

    all through this week I've been looking at all the great shots, but this was a hard week for me, everyone always posts great shots that are all winners in there own aspect, but finding the ONE to win this week was very tiring, but there must be a winner and it's Joel Eade with "Tufted Titmouse"

    this shot is just gorgeous! from the colorful background to the bird everything is perfect, the contrast, the detail, the color, the bokeh, the framing, and everything else.

    if I didn't know this was a photo i'd say it was made by a master painter!

    Congrats Joel....if that is your last shot with fall colors you certainly ended with a flourish.
