I would almost be inclined to send it back to the retailer for an exchange. Imagine yourself 3 years down the road and you want to sell the lens (for whatever reason). What if the person whom you're selling to has a body that would require a +22 for proper focus calibration? As that is impossible, they'd receive a lens which would appear to be dysfunctional with no means of correction.
The same scenario may occur with any additional bodies you try to use the lens with. It's just too risky, in my opinion.
