I appreciate that Jon provides images, as do many others, of places/conditions I will never experience unless a plane crashes.

I don't tend to share many shots of my family publically, but I thought this was funny:

Did a whale watch on Sunday. I've been on several over the years, but this is the first one where I got to see a breach up close. Turns out the one whale did multiple breaches right in front of us:

From our recent family trip to New Hampshire. Although Mount Washington is the 'home of the world's worst weather', it was a rare warm and almost-clear day atop the summit, which we reached via a coal-fired steam locomotive on the Cog Railway.

I finally got a chance to get a day off to try out the 5DS R. The files actually seem better than the 1DX in a lot of ways. Besides the obvious increase in resolution, I can pull up the shadows more without banding issues... and the same for reducing the highlights. They take more sharpening, clarity and contrast without adding a lot of noise. So far, I am pretty impressed. I also liked the colors (cant quantify it, but the colors did seem to have more punch). And the focus seems to be spot on without any AFMA as of yet. Here are a few B&W shots taken yesterday during my annual trek to the Buckley, Mi Old Engine Show (love this place).

    Great shot of the dragonfly!

I do not have much knack for portraits, but for my new granddaughter had to give it a go.
