    Another cooperative BlueJay.

Their mood is quite variable. Some days they will pose for several seconds and other days they are in constant motion and you cannot get a good image :-)

I was finally able to get a shot I like of a Red-winged Blackbird . The sun was starting to get a little high but I think it still came out alright.

Beautiful image....love the pose. Not easy to get detail in the blacks without over-exposing the reds.....well done.

I've been moving my setup around trying to line up with a better background. It will be much easier once things start tuning green.
the exif is reporting 400mm at f5.6 but I taped the pins in the teleconverter to be able to use all the focus points. It works "ok" for a still subject but that's about all it can be used for. Still pretty helpful for framing.

The work shown here is consistently unbelievable. There are wonderful talents here with great determination. This photo does not really belong from a content standpoint, but it my first capture of a lesser scaup and I thought worthy of sharing.

The sharpness and detail are good and I like the water as well as your composition. If you could lighten the head and the eye slightly I think it would help but I agree with keeping images of a new species until a better one comes along.

Love your woodpecker shots Joel !
Plenty of birds to choose from in my back yard except pileated woodpeckers lol. The light has been almost non existent the last few weeks. Seems like the only time there is good light is once a week while I am at work .
Still managed to get a few pics of this girl this morning before it started to rain , AGAIN.
I am headed to florida for 2 weeks on monday so maybe i will have more luck with the light down there.
