I second the vote for the 16-35/4IS, and not the 16-35/2.8 II. I had the 2.8II and sold it for the 4IS, and I'm very glad I did. The 2.8III wasn't announced at that time, but I'm not sure I'd have gone for it even if it was on the market then, mostly due to price.
