I was ask to do some pixs last night for a 21st birthday party. The party place was very dark, which made focusing a bit of a challenge. I used 5DMKII, 50mm f1/4 and 580EX2. Here's a shot of the birthday girl and her friends.

Early every winter, the snowy owls migrate south through Alberta and stop for a while in the fields east of Calgary. And I take some time off work, and migrate out there to search for them. I just love these birds and every time I find one it is like finding a diamond in a haystack.

Jonathan - Beuatiful birds and nice shots... they sure do seem to like sitting on top of power poles.
I am a bit envious. I used to be able to find them around our house during the winter pretty easily, but last year they seemed to quit coming around here. Last year I did not see any, and this year I have only seen one (but that was on the other side of the county). I wish they would come back to the area.

Mmm, i'm thinking thoughts that I probably shouldn't be... Or at least that I should be getting some birthday photography gigs, great shot there.
And that owl looks so cute, for number 2, does anyone else see the old guy from the muppets balcony?
An awful lot of electrons were terribly inconvenienced in the making of this post.
