Here are two shots from last week-end. I'm pretty happy but I'd be glad to get some comments

For the background, I put a white collapsible background with two speedlites on each side. Both in manual but at different power during the shoot.
For the foreground, I had a reflective umbrella with a single speedlite with 1/4 CTO just to add a tiny bit of warmth.

    Both shots are 1/100s, f/5.6 @ 105mm (using the 24-105)

    Thanks!
    Steph

Took some photos of a friends daughter today. I think he needs to buy a shotgun and lock the doors

James - I do not know how I missed your baby shot, but that is great... a real stand out.

Mark - Very nice... as all yours always are (consistently very good). She can still wear shorts down there?

That noise you hear is a heart breaking ... Having daughters (I have 4) is a joy. Let the dad know I will send him my 4' "National Champion Night Sniper 3000 meters" trophy if he wants. It has been reasonable effective.

I'd guess you get more than 10 months summer, or atleast less than two months of winter. Perhaps 2 weeks winter, and 3 weeks each of fall and spring. Maybe it's colder up where you are than where my dad is.

My dad is near McAllen, TX, fairly south, near the Mexican border. One winter we visited him around Late Jan-Early Feb. We took a trip out to South Padre Island. It was 25C/77F, and we came home sunburned. I'm sure all the native Texans were in their warmest winter gear, but I consider that a warm summer day, despite it being in the middle of winter. In the mornings we could go out to the porch swing with a blanket, as it was like 14C/57F... I'd say that's a warm spring/fall day.

It sounds nice until you remember how hot the summer days are.
