Joel, Great detail in the white feathers, Nice head position and smooth but textured background. As far as the adournement, I'm not sure, But I am starting to develop a taste for them.

Thanks Bob....I took this one from the kitchen window, nearly at dark this evening. The HB's are extremely active now, probably feeding up for migration. They are perching very close to the feeders and aggressively guarding their turf. The BG is too busy but I like the detail, color and iridescence in this one.

Joel, I like the shot--I think your right about the background---maybe a "little" busy, but I also have gotten to where I like some texture and environment in the background. The bird is nice---good head position, sharp, well exposed. You do have me wishing that I should have spent more time this year on the perched hummingbird shots--I had lots of opportunity, but failed to take advantage of it.

Again, nice shot--I hope the hummers keep you company for a few more weeks---Mine are all but gone.

Trying for some flight shots with black BG this afternoon, too rainy to put up a background so I aimed the flashes out of the kitchen window!

Stunning shots Joel and Bob! I love reviewing this thread. I saw my first ever wild humming bird on my deck this morning, but my youngest and I got so excited to see it that it took off and probably won't ever come back. If he does he is going to have a buffet!

This beautiful juvenille red-tailed hawk stopped in for a delicious meal of freshly caught chipmunk, right on one of our fenceposts.

Beautiful John! Still trying to restrain myself from the 1DX but these types of images make it tough...well done.
