Not to bad, but the wind would bite a little. It was 14°F to 18°F (-8°C to -10°C).

Denise - Your on the wrong side of the lake. By the time the below zero air blows accross the lake, it gets warmed up by the water (or cooled down in the summer)

Kombi - Nice shots. In the first one I like how everything seems to converge (even the mountains do).

Thanks Denise. I have been trying to do more landscape since it is snowy. Hard to get out with 3 kiddos.

Nice pics, Kombi. I've seen that first pic numerous times from other photographers. Must be a good picture taking spot there, like the classic Yosemite pics. Although the water level of the lake looks down quite a bit from what I've seen in other pics.

You might want to straighten the horizon on the Grand Canyon pic. It's a great image, but the tilt in the image is distracting.

Thank you, it's a bit of a hike to that point, rather remote by foot, but by boat would be easy to get to. Now that I think about it there was a boat launch where we parked. Might rent a canoe this summer and try the area again. With DSLR instead of point and shoot.

Agree on the tilt- would have expexcted these to be the common shots (on walking path North rim)

Nice shots of SBD, Pat. We were up there this past summer. It was considerably warmer.

It's really striking how high up off the water you are when you stand at the top of the dunes. I can see why they discourage people from sand-skiing down to the water. It's a tough climb coming back up.

Mark - Now that is a total different perspective. Great water color. Walking up those dunes is tough... more energy is disipated moving sand with every step than gets used moving your body up the hill.

The day we were there it was painful to stand out in the sun. You get amazing temperature extremes in MI sometimes. I'd love to go back there when it's possible to spend an hour or so at a site to take my time with images. It was just too hot that day.
