Nice, don't think of butterflies in BW but it presents itself well.

Not sure I'm happy with this. Reworked it a couple of time to try and get the right presentation. Any feedback or recommendations are appreciated.

Ultimately, I'll probably re-shoot it under different ambient light and from a slightly different angle. Thanks for looking.

Sorry Don, I'm definitely not one to give advice on this whole B&W & limited color thing since I am still in the very early learning stages myself. the angle of the photo is good IMO but I'm not overly fond of the color of it but not quire sure how I would change it either.

Heck I can't figure out if I even like the two I just worked on ...

    Hey Don,

Your pic looks to be lacking contrast a bit. Darks need to be darker, highlights lighter. That'll give it more pop. Took the liberty of saving the image to try and illustrate what I'm talking about.

This of course is completely subjective. Just my humble opinion. May not have been what you were going for at all. I did this on my laptop and I'm sure that when I get to work tomorrow and take a look at it, my version will be too dark. Sigh... Tax returns can't come soon enough. Looks decent from where I'm sitting right now though! Promise! heh.

Thanks for the sample. Contrast may be part of it, but as I've let this stew for awhile the color is all wrong for an late 1800's photograph. It should be more silvery. Albuem processing which would be correct for the period has this hue, albeit much less saturated. (faded)

I was a bit bored [:^)] last Wednesday so I went to local lake[ip] to see what the locals were up to.

These are some of the pixs I took and reworked into B/W using NIK.
