Just did this one over the weekend... my daughters Sweet 16th party.
Used two 600W Visico Strobes w/Soft boxes on their lowest settings (one at 10' and the other at 15'), Canon 70-200 2.8 L @ 200mm from 24' away, f3.2. no PP other than a bump up in exposure. I would have preferred adding a shoot-thru umbrella for back-light but there was just no room.
Here's the Flickr link for other strobed pics. Several other good shots but lots of poor ones too. Not enough room in foyer so you could see the end of the pool table in some lol... oh well, it was all for fun anyhow. I posted most so the kids who were in the pics could download them for themselves.
these are unedited, and my frist photo shoot i've ever done. i know some of these have washed out highlights and etc etc.
but w/e im pretty happy for my first actual photoshoot results =]
all taken with rebel XS w/ 50mm f/1.8 at variable apertures
Great shots everyone!
I just got a few pieces of my strobe kit tonight, so I gave it a test run. Here is my not-so-typical portrait shot =)
Just cropped and sharpened in photoshop.
wow...i just wanted to say that i love these shots .You look amazing with your natural beauty.
Portrait of my other love Dont have the exif data on this one. was taken a long time back.
Cheers!

This is from a shoot I did yesterday. I used a little on camera fill flash (bare 580 EX II) set on ETTLtilted upward to feather the light hittingthe modeland only lighting her face a little. I processed the RAW file in CS4 no cropping neccessary and used the Portraiture 2 plugin from imagenomic to smooth the skin on the weakest setting. The "magic cannonball" is amazing, it almost never comes off my camera...
