This is from a shoot I did yesterday. I used a little on camera fill flash (bare 580 EX II) set on ETTLtilted upward to feather the light hittingthe modeland only lighting her face a little. I processed the RAW file in CS4 no cropping neccessary and used the Portraiture 2 plugin from imagenomic to smooth the skin on the weakest setting. The "magic cannonball" is amazing, it almost never comes off my camera...

    Hello,

I'm a beginner just starting out and love taking portraits with a nice blurred background. Any feedback appreciated.

Some portraits of my daughters. Three of Sigrid and the last one of Clara.

The first two were taken last weekend in the evening on an over cast day using only available light. They are self portraits. I used a wireless remote for both. I'm on the left, my wife the right.

This is the first "shoot" i did after getting an SLR. I just had my wife sit on a table and I spent about 45 min roaming and shooting her from different distances etc. She really liked this one, it was her facebook profile pic for quite a while

Girlfriend was home for the weekend, figured I would go on a picnic and break out the 85 1.2

These are some of what I'd consider my best from recent senior portrait shoots. Watermarked only because they are senior pictures

I forget the strobist info. Sorry.

Comments/critiques welcome But these are already the final edits haha.

    Enjoy, and great shots everyone!

    Hi Rodger,

I love the lighting and the shots in general for the first 2 pictures. It must have taken a lot of patience to get the dog facing the same way as the senior in the first pic, I just love it. I like the concept of the 3rd shot and the background but I would have liked to see the seniors eyes a little more and not have her feet cut off in the shot. Other then that I really like your work.
