Alright Jan, stop showing offThose star trail shots are great. I would definitely get at least one printed and hang in the photography room. But that's me.

That must have been awesome to see, Pat! Nice shots!

Some blue sky for about 2 minutes for me to at least take this shot, then back to a gray dreary day!

Thanks everyone for the comments on my nightshots.I will probably stop taking them for a while. The weather has changed a bit and the skies aren't probably that clear at night for a while now. It was new moon last week which was great. Also the time has changed, it's 1 hour later now. That and the progressing longer days will mean that if I want to do some star-shots it will have to be (long)after midnight. To start with. From 11pm to about 1 o'clock was still manageable on a weeks day, but from 1-2am for example isn't so much for meI took the chances while I could. It's getting better weather now, so up to different types of photos! (the extension tubes I ordered got in yesterday
)
@thekingb, very nice shots of your son(s?), sorry they look so much alike
@Dustin, those are great photos! I'm a big fan of lizards. I had all types of them as pets when I was young. Including the Green Anole which make these shots even better to meAre they wild by the way? I cannot believe you've shot these with a 50mm lens
@Pat, those shots are awesome.
Tail and ears of that of a Muskrat - if a beaver tail where verticle it would be offset. Beaver ears are shaped and colored differently,
If you see me with a wrench, call 911
Jan, one of my collaborators does research on lizards. We went to Louisiana to collect data for some of his projects. I hate to give away trade secrets, but the right leg of both of those lizards is tethered to a tree with a little loop of nylon string. Other than this method, I don't think it would be possible to get a semi-macro shot of a Six-lined Racerunner. They are called "racerunners" for a reason!

Collected salamanders this weekend for some of my research. Here is a little Long-tailed Salamander.
