Thanks! Just as your post appeared I was finishing this image which was taken with the Version 1 500mm and the Version 3 2X teleconverter. This was with the 1DX at ISO 3200 f/8 1/320 sec. using a Gitzo tripod and Wimberly II Gimbal

This Indigo Bunting was shot with the same settings as the Cardinal except it was with the Version II 1.4 teleconverter.

First time I've seen a wild owl. Luckily people were there to point out where they were. They were *far*. That's using the 7D + 70-300L @ 300mm, so 480mm. Originally I cropped them and resized them to 900 px tall, like all my other pics, but they're very nearly 100% crops (like originally 930 and 960 or something after crop). Because of that, the quality wasn't the best, so I downsized them to 600 px tall, and stuck two together.

If you want my personal guided tour, a weekend. I can supply a map if you'd rather not wait. They look pretty big to me. They might leave the nest pretty soon.

A few other pics from the day's outing. The Heron and Wood Duck are similarly focal length limited as the owls were, which is why I didn't upload them the first time... They weren't worth one of my precious 200 flickr slots. Seeing as how that's no longer an issue, I can share some less than ideal shots. I didn't even *try* to take a picture of the beaver swimming past the heron. It's a pretty busy little pond.

I realize the gosling shots would benefit from laying down on the ground, but no. It was muddy and I was carrying two cameras and a spare lens. I'll leave those shots to people with vari-angle screens or some sort of gosling related income. That's got to be pretty niche, and I wouldn't want to cut into your sales.

Beautiful images....looks like a great place to visit with nice diversity of subjects. The close up of the Canada Goose is really fine!
