Hey Jordan -
Your bio shows you live in France and in these photos you say your on your way to work and their tagged Madison, Wisconsin ...that's quite the commute you have every day!! If you would have traveled alittle further south, I would have bought you a beer and explained how we don't take photos of road kill down here in SE Wisconsin! [:P]
He does look pretty peaceful in that second photo though!

Yep Dave is right, it is the Masked Lapwing, or the Masked Plover, or the Spur-winged Plover. I live in Queensland and have only ever heard them called Plovers.
