Denise,
These shots are all wonderful. I have enjoyed your dog pictures in the past, but these are by far the best yet. You must be thrilled with this new lens, as well as these results.
I know these are just test shots, so I hope you don't mind a little C&C.
The eyes are all very sharp, the contrast is wonderful, and the background blur is beautiful too, as the subjects all "pop" nicely.
edit: Watch cutting off their feet and watch the fence horizon.
I especially love the composition on the third one. Perhaps, you would consider cropping the 4th one in a portrait crop.
I see a few Christmas Cards here!

Thanks, Rich! You are right about #4, it would look much better cropped some. The dogs are NOT very cooperative with getting their photo taken and have come to despise my camera and refuse to look at me but every now and then I get a decent shot!

Hey Denise, I love your dog shots too! Very festive indeed. I shot this today with my 135mm f/2. Started off with shooting gymnastics of my little one, so this was the lens of choice. I almost left it home to use my f/1.4 fast 50. Today was one of those, "one lens only" days for me.

That is really cool looking, erno! Please explain what pp you did to get that effect.
Thanks,

Hey Denise, I learned about this effect yesterday and gave it a whirl. It
Thanks, erno! I will take a look at them! I have elements but have only used it maybe 3 times. It is on my winter to-do list to learn how to use it properly and guess what ...winters here! So it's time for me to start learning!
I have elements 8 and I now see 9 has come out since I purchased this so maybe I should upgrade and learn the current version.
