I use the 50 1.8 a lot on my 5dMKII and that's the reason its high on my list.....

    400 behind the 24-70, eh?

I think I love the 400 f/2.8 more than any of them, and I don't even have one

    Jon,

Fewreasons. First is, it doesn't really help in the photography I do 90% of time time: action and sports, primarly outside, or inside with a flash. Second reason, kills battery life. Third reason, its not as big as a lifesaver as the catalogs say, shake is overemphanized in the ads. Ive shot Minolta/Sony, Canon and Nikon IS and haven't noticed a difference betwene them. Lastly, I one of those lucky SOBs who can hand hold a camera well into hail mary speeds and still take a sharp shot. If I'm without a tripod or mono pod, I have a couple of tricks and can usually find some kind of support.

Hate is a strong word, the type of photography I do is usually too fast or with a lot light so IS is NOT needed. I don't need it, doesn't mean that I hate it. I really thinkg IS is a great innovation in modern photography.

    Anyways my favorite 3

    70-200 f/2.8 L IS

    400 f/5.6L

    500 f/4 L IS

    Edit: added "NOT"

    Nate,

Do ever take a photo of anything closer than 30ft? LOL!

Right now.......my fav three even though the 28-75 f2.8L is on my camera most of the time.

    1) 70-200 f2.8L

    2) 17-35 f2.8L

    3) EF 100 f2.8 Macro

    1) Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS
    2) Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS
    3) Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 or Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS (I'd hate to be without either of them!)

If I have two bodies for the shoot:

    16-35/2.8

    70-200/2.8IS

    85/1.2

If I have one body for the shoot:

    16-35/2.8

    24-105/4 (I'd love to replace it with a 24-70/2.8)

    70-200/2.8IS

We're a Canon/Profoto family: five cameras, sixteen lenses, fifteen Profoto lights, too many modifiers.
