wow butterflies are popular this week. Here's mine. I was at the Academy of Science rain forest exhibit. This was taken with my 24-105 F4 L. Unfortunately I didn't bring my 70-200, but I still liked the results.

Great shot of the GBH, Denise! (Maybe would have benefitted from more DoF, but not sure that you had the shutter speed or ISO to trade.) The portraits of your granddaughter (?) are really nice. The 3rd shot (insect) has great composition, but looks out of focus.

    Here are my contributions...

Flume Cascade in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This one was shot with the Joby Gorillapod SLR Zoom that I brought on the family vacation, instead of the full-sized CF tripod. I wrapped the Gorillapod around the guard rail by the side of the highway for this shot, and with a 1/3 s exposure I think it did pretty well!

    EOS 7D, EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM @ 17mm, 1/3 s, f/22, ISO 100

This fellow was paddling around a local pond, and was close enough that I was glad I could zoom out to frame the shot...

Attempted a photo shoot for two of my kids. Couldn't get a serious face out of my son though. My next purchase is going to be a remote trigger for my flash. I do not like the black shade under their eyes in some shots, but the light is coming from above.

I just haven't been able to get the hang of these extension tubes yet, as in this photo (but I keep practicing)...

and yes, this is my granddaughter!
