For me there is no doubt:


Buy the 1D Mark IV.


I don´t know which model you have at the moment, you didn´t. But for sport the 1DMarkIV is most appropriated: 10 fps and 16,1 megapixels. I think it ´s the best camera for the mentioned purpose. No other camera has a higher resolution at 10 fps. You will not regret it.


I do snapshots and sports mainly watersport and I bought it.

This is likely the biggest investments. A lenses can be afforded easier.

The two lenses listed in the subject of this discussion are in the same price category as the camera.


I, for one, would go with the well-established logic that glass is the better choice.

I usually sugest lenses over a camera body but in your situation I think a camera body upgrade makes more sense.
