Yes, the 1D and 1Ds are different cameras, but my point that the 1D series bodies make more pleasing images than the 7D2, is likely true for the 1D4.

That said, after some very quick testing of Photoshop vs. Lightroom, I'm thinking a good chunk of my 7D2 hate is actually Lightroom induced. The isolated pixel effect was still there with Photoshop, but significantly reduced. I only tested one photo (one I linked to above) but was enough to convince me that my next set of shots should be processed via Photoshop before deciding on replacing the body.
