I thought about doing something similar, but ended up buying the copy stand Joel linked too. My thought was that it would more easily help me get the camera square to the photos. I also added a ST-E3-RT, a second 600 EX RT, two Westcott 42" umbrellas, and Impact umbrella brackets.

I love the set up. Actually, I haven't been posting many photos and most of my spare time has been digitizing old family photos. You have to be able to laugh at yourself, here is an old one with me center stage:
