Nashville Strobist Meetup Images: Opinions Needed

This weekend, the Nashville Strobist Group had their annual meetup. It was great to see some old, familiar faces and meet new people as well. We always have fun learning from each other, experimenting with new techniques, sharing equipment, and just plain socializing with those who are passionate about photography and lighting.


Here's what I need from you:


I have several images below. I'm needing you to comment on your favorites and least favorites so that I can decide how to narrow down this list for my Flickr posting. I generally don't post a great number of images from any one session, and I hate to post two with a very similar pose, framing, and background (for example, #8 and #9 will not both be posted). Help me weed out a couple...

Photo 3 is my favorite because you have all sorts of green hues in the picture: the stairs, her shirt, her tattoo and her eyes. Photo 6 is my next favorite, though I think for my tastes I would have increased the ambient exposure by a stop or so. With the hard shadow under her jaw it seems like there

Sean....a great set of photos. There is a lot of interesting things going on, but as for the best, in my amateuropinion:

• #2 is the best. The face expression, lighting, scene and model all "fit."
• #3 is a very close second. To me, #2 and #3 are the two best photos.
• #8 and #10 are my "second tier." I prefer #8 or #9 as 9 looks a little "vacant" to me (nice photo, it is a facialexpression, plus the slightly open mouth).
• #5 and #6 are my "third tier."The shadows in #5 make it very different from the others. #6feels "tense" which is good.

EDIT:-The rest are still good, but those are the best, IMO.
