Cokin's parent company went into administration in November 2010, with supplies of the company's products becomingly increasingly scarce. Re: Cokin Filter Holders vs ? , Need Landscape Advice

Moving on Sean's suggestion, I procrastinated long enough that the ringfor Cokin Wideframe is not available. So that one is out now.

I talked to several store reps, local and on the internet. Apparently the market collapsed on these type of filters, there was no demand and that is why Cokin is having problems and is impossible to get.

I found one other option The Hitech Filter Holder 85mm/Cokin P for Wide Angle Lens

    [View:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/158920-REG/Hitech_HT1009_Filter_Holder_for_85mm_Cokin.html]

I called the B&H rep, he checked and said he couldn't say with 100% certainty that this holder would not vignette on a 24mm L lens. He didn't think it would. I tried to find some information using google and yahoo but no luck yet.

Any idea where I might find a review on this to see how wide I can go?

I think I found the answer to my question. On another forum someone Say's they emailed Hitech and asked them the same question

Hitech has one with 2 filter slots. I emailed them and got this response on their vignetting. "The 85mm system can go to 28mm (full frame) without vignetting."

Looks like this would not be the solution for the 24mm.

Since going FF I cannot use my Cokin system w/o vignetting, so I have been hand holding the filter. I know I can buy a filter holding system, but there is always something I would rather buy for the money. Today I ran across this. Looks like it will work for a budget hold. It does not solve the need to stack filters, but I try not to anyway. Take it for what it is worth... I will probably give it a try.

He uses felt on the ring and clips to protect the filter.

    That's a brilliantly simple solution...

It is also possible to hand hold the filter on the end of the lens. It is far quicker than using a holder. Do this a lot myself. Provided you don't press the filter on the lens when adjusting position there is no risk of scratching. Not convenient for long exposures though.
A hair elastic will also work to hold filters in place. Just slide it on and it will catch on the edge behind the hood mount on most lenses.
Holders really come into their own for stacking filters as they let you easily adjust each one independently.
