Nice shot Dave. I am a little envious. I have been wanting to try this type of shot but not too many waterfalls in NM---not until the snow melts anyway.---I guess I could stack few rocks in the bathtub, but I am not sure my wife would appreciate that particular photographic endeavor.
Here is The first photo I took that I was actually proud of back in my film days (30 years ago). I scanned it it just a few weeks ago and I have no idea what my settings were but it was taken with a Canon AE1. Kanehoe beach, Oahu, HI.

Bob
Went outa week or two agofor some sunset shots at one of my favourite locations. The plan was to use the flash triggers and umbrellas etc to light up the foreground of a mossy rock with the sunset in the background.
HOWEVER, I left the transmitter at home so I couldn't do what I wanted. [:$] I'm a bit over the stock standard sunset shot so I didn't bother setting up with the wide angle lens. This was a blessing in disguise in the end I suppose.
Instead I was kind of forced to try something different. So I got the telephoto out and trondled around searching for interesting subjects. This bindie flower was a great subject but it was bloody windy so it was difficult to get a sharp shot. Had to hand hold using liveview as well so I didn't put a hole in my retina.[:|]

I took this while walking the dog. There wasn't too much catching my eye but I liked the colour this gave.

Nature burning, yeah I know different.
Took some pictures a few weeks ago of the snow blowing around. We have had 10 feet here in Flagstaff and much of it had melted down and hardened, but then we got some fresh, dry snow--and some wind!
