    Re: Ducks

Lovely shots everyone, I particularly like the mallards in flight that a few of you have captured.

Bob, you just beat me to it with the shoveler. Here's mine anyway:

    1D Mark IV, EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM +1.4x @ f/7.1, 1/640s, ISO 200

Two male eiders chasing a female in Svalbard:

    5D Mark II, EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM @ 400mm, f/8, 1/640s, ISO 100

It's important to "get all your ducks in a row" for a good in-flight composition:

    5D Mark II, EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM @ 400mm, f/8, 1/800s, ISO 100

Upland geese at Lake Roca, Tierra Del Fuego:

    5D Mark II, EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM @ 400mm, f/8, 1/400s, ISO 250

Egyptian geese near the Mara River, Kenya:

    1D Mark IV, EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM +1.4x @ f/4, 1/640, ISO 200

Before anybody tells me I've posted in the wrong thread, these species are geese by name, but not by taxonomy. They are classified in the Tadorninae sub-family, so theyare more closely related to shelducks than geese. Geese belongin the Anserinae sub-family.
