True. I do work freelance though, so I do usually get some decent free time [] But yes you're right. It's about being with a buddy and getting the best shots in the most creative of ways. And I want to invest in locations as well! My girlfriend and I are saving/looking at going to Italy next summer so that would be AMAZING!

Yeah...it took me a while...you are right...students have it better...more time. When I was a student I traveled a lot. Also, I am originally from Europe so I did some serious millage way back when...nowadays I get my paws on my camera when time allows. Sad, but joy is still the same and it is fantastic stress reducer for me. Even my husband approves seeing me so happy...wait...maybe I should go for that big 300mm? Nah, I think I am done for the moment, LOL.

Enjoy your time as student, these are your best years...

I was on a road-trip to Denmark and Sweden last weekend [] I'm enjoying it to the fullest! Once I sort out my photos I'll put some online!Next to my study, part-time job and photographing I also have like 10000 other things to do, but I don't have the responsabilty for anyone else(no kids etc) so I could go anywhere anytime when I want to (if budget and girlfriend allows [:P]) that's the beauty of being a student []

That's the most important thing! I can wander around in nature and hours seem like minutes...love that feeling!

Oh by the way, with the budget of the 300mm f2.8 you could also do a crazy trip anywhere on the planet (even with man/kids)...just saying []

LOL, you are too funny...not a diamond girl...I would prefer 5DII instead, but I try not to be greedy. We have high maintenance bulldogs instead of kids...although...these days kids would be cheaper, I am into several thousands in vet bills this year. But of course, I needed that new lens to capture their lovely mugs []

So...I am putting my vet's kids through Harvard this year, that 300mm will have to wait, LOL.

That sounds so lovely...i remember these days of free-spirited life, everything was so easy and uncomplicated...no deadlines, except for school...life was sweet. But to be honest, it is quite nice now, just grown up style and with different options[<)]

I grew up in Poland, lived in UK and Australia, now in US. Loved each
country but now I call US home.

Now you made me want to go out and grab my camera, LOL...

    and...

LOL, I have two non-athletic bulldogs instead of kids, but my husband is a good sport, and he totally supports my hobby. I am very fortunate that he enjoys looking at my photographs, even the bad ones, UGH [:'(]

Well, I guess you'll have to survive for now without a giant lens to scare your dogs with. I love to take pictures of my cat. Pets are definitely the best.
