    True. Death Valley is not the place to go for good restaurants, shopping, or partying.

    I am in Belgium right now for a conference.

    Add it to the list. Bruge, Brussels, but especially Ghent. More gothic architecture than I've seen any other place and all intermixed with cathedrals and canals.
