This is Luna sleeping in the backyard, while the most focused sprinkled water passes through.

Featured here,is Buttercup, he was brought to us via a crai*glist ad that we usual would have flagged,in order to avoid people posting animals for sale that would usually be in an irresponsible way, yet here we ended up with this little guy! He was found near death with his poor little body head first drowned in a pool of filth at a waste facility! He was give IV to warm up his blood, and brought to life by a vet with a huge heart, as I believe all animal caretakers have! The fantastic part of this story is that the person who found this poor animal has a daughter that worked for the vet named, and she herself is training to become an animal doctor as well! This pup was sadly but thankfully in the right place at the right time! Thank you animal lovers for all of your fantastic work!

Americo,
I like the 2nd shot!
The first 1st and the 3rd, I don't know. The puppy is OOF. In the first the snout seems to be more in focus than the eyes. I would suggest the eyes being in focus. The third shot...I'd rather see the puppy than the pumpkin...[]
Like you B&Ws

Great job Denise. Good angle, comp, and steady hands! Cute little guy you got there.
Do you shoot manual mostly?
Damian
Thank you, Damian. I do shoot manual most of the time. I cannot believe this came out as well as it did. I seem to need to use a tripod more with the Sigma than I did with the Canon. Not having IS on a slightly heavier lens is a challenge for me.

Have you always gravitated to M mode or did you start in Av or Tv and graduate to M. I, personally, seem to gravitate to Av mostly and use my Quick Control Dial to adjust exposure as I see fit. What are the advantages for you with using M. I am not "there" yet...so to speak.
BTW, I think you have a great eye and are a natural and enjoy your photos very much. Keep up the good work!
Damian
ps. you're too modest....[]. You have a lot of talent.
With my Rebel I was relying on AUTO too much so when I got the 7D I just went straight to Manual and just kept using it. I do use TV once in awhile but not often. When I take photos of my dogs, I'm getting pretty used to about where I need to be at with each one, although having a black dog, white dog & a buff colored one, it is sometimes challenging outside. I'll take a shot of the white one in the sun, then turn to take one of the black dog in the shade ...I'm constantly changing settings sometimes!
My worst habit is forgetting to switch out of AL SERVO when I don't need it!
Denise
BTW - Sometimes I get in moods of wondering why I try to do this at all so thank you SO MUCH for the compliments!!! [] [] []
