Pat....great shots.....I like all three. In the first the reflections in the waves stand out, the second the suburst, and I like the side lighting in the third.

All are great but +2 on #1! I love the b&w treatment you applied!

Thanks! All taken with my Fuji X10, my carry-everywhere camera.
There were a couple of arched blue and purple flare artifacts just above the bottom right hand rule-of-third point if that makes sense, but the B&W conversion has rendered them almost invisible.
Saying that, I think you can see one of them in the spray, but it's not a problem at all.
The lens on the X10 doesn't flare much generally, but you can lose contrast if the sun is outside the frame, so I try to put the sun IN the frame where possible.

Just got back from Vancouver. Didn't get a chance to do as much shooting as I thought I would. I did climb Grouse Mountain, which was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I did not break an hour. Here's a few shots from the trip. I'm still going through a bunch of them.

Lumberjack from lumberjack show on Grouse Mountain:
Black squirrel from Wreck beach (this is funny if you have ever been to Wreck beach):
