A couple from a walk with my wife this morning.

She makes strange footprints... Seriously, this seems like a really nice place to go for a walk with your camera (and/or wife). At the moment it's Sunday morning where I live, and these nice photos inspired me to leave the computer in five minutes and gor for my own walk with the camera. (We'll se if my wife comes with me - it may be a little early for her.)

I went up on the dunes for sunset last night. Here is a shot of the root remains of a forest that has been over taken by the expansion of the dunes many years ago. Winds change things so fast here.

love the long exposure lake shot. Its simple but thats what makes it work. Nice colors, but not overly intense. The dock creates a great leading line into the photo.

Nice series of photos, Pat --- the tracks in the sand and the long exposure on the lake are my faves. I agree with the earlier comment --- your shots are good motivators for the rest of us!

Rather than this being my best landscape, I suppose it's my first landscape. I've recently decided to broaden my portfolio to include the odd landscape (why not, right?) so I set my alarm for 5am to allow me enough time to get to the coast for sunrise. The weather report said it would be 'partly cloudly'... well, it was just a thick blanket of grey. I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping for a nice colourful sunrise, but I did find a nice bit of driftwood to snap. The scene was pretty ugly, so I had to use a bit of creative white balance and a gelled flash, which felt a bit like cheating. I don't particularly like the image, but I'm glad I came away with something.

w349- that's an interesting photo, what type of tree was this? I always love people's interpretations of partly cloudy... however I do know the coastal weather can change very quickly.
