Nice shot, Jonathan. Two great silhouettes in that shot. Right place, right time.![]()

Thanks everyone --- and Steve, that's definitely pure gold. I'm especially impressed that there is no lens flare in that shot. I struggle a bit with my 24-70 f/2.8 in that regard.

@Steve: Nice shot. I always love it when you get rays of light streaming through the clouds.
This is one of the better (but still not very good) shots of that type that I've taken.

Thank you for the comments, that was the 70-200 for that sunset, possibly one of the better lenses for flair.
@Stephen, it's all about luck and timing for sun rays. That shot of mine needed to be cropped a bit and the horizon straightened before it was a passable shot. Your one above, the blown out sun in the corner is distracting and the horizon in the middle of the frame, does not add to the scene.
Here is a bit of a rework of yours, hope you don't mind.

Thanks Steve! I certainly don't mind and totally agree about the blown out area in the corner. That was probably the main thing I didn't like about it; looks a lot better with your crop. Cropping (or better yet, framing) is something I definately need to get better at to improve my shots.
What a lot of great landscapes lately. Jonathan,Steve, Stephen, Kayaker, Andy, M_Six, Franco, Denise, and so many more have shown some real good landscapes to keep this thread going... it makes me want to get out and shoot more. Thank you and keep them coming.
Here is one from today. The peach blossoms are out early this year.

She makes strange footprints... Seriously, this seems like a really nice place to go for a walk with your camera (and/or wife). At the moment it's Sunday morning where I live, and these nice photos inspired me to leave the computer in five minutes and gor for my own walk with the camera. (We'll se if my wife comes with me - it may be a little early for her.)
