+1 on these comments to both you guys, well composed and well planned shots.

To demonstrate a totally unplanned and feeble portrait attempt of Bo Jangles the birthday boy today, here is a quick one taken just after I put him in a birdbath to try and take a shot. The birdbath was emtpy and Bo jumped off the edge of it and it fell over and he got a bit of a fright.

He gave me one of those, "it's your fault and you're in trouble looks".

Steve, Brant, and Eric: Thanks for the kind words.

Eric - Light painting is fun. Unfortunately, I used a spot light (very tight focused light) and it ended up getting splotchy (i.e., uneven light and shadowed areas in the sand). I need to try this one again sometime and try to even the light out. But I want a better lens before I do that (or full frame)... the Sigma and 7D combination does not perform in low light shots that well.

Brant - It is cold here too, and it was quite windy along the shoreline. I had a lot of layers of cloths on, but it was a beautiful night.

I finally had some free time to take my 6D outside during the holiday. Maybe I'll post some pictures in the coming days. It was a bit difficult to go away from the mountains and get back to work today...

Amazing blue eyes on that cat Steve. Cool snow capped cabins Tounis.

Well, I finally upgraded and am now shooting FULL FRAME. Loving what the EOS Canon 5D MarkIII can do when compared to my good 'ole buddy, my 7D. I'm still using the 7D for kids' sports and plan to use it for wildlife at Yellowstone NP later this year. I woke up today for a cold California sunrise (well, 29F is cold to us anyway).

Great shots of Bella, David! Still no snow here in SE Wisconsin and today was like springtime! All is going to change soon enough I hear!

I got my 40mm pancake lens today! I really like this cute little thing!

Whos, love that shot of Buddy Denise, that look is priceless and the focus and DOF is sweet.
