Amazing shot of the nutcracker with a wide angle lens, Jonathan! I've always wanted to visit Banff and Lake Louise...
Wally: Great B&W portriat, it's definitely something that I can learn from..

Really weird-looking fish, and a shot of the beautiful Vancouver:

I love night landscapes of cities. You captured that well. What is that smoke in the foreground a factory?

The fish picture is great. It kinda makes me laugh a little at their expressions.

    Thanks for posting.

Unfortunately it's an oil refinery by the river...and they're planning to build a pipeline that goes all the way to the state of Washington from Vancouver.

I've been lucky with Flickr lately, with my last two pictures featured on explore, so I thought I'd share the second too. I hope you aren't bored with snow.

I am never bored with snow. I just wish we would get some. Another great shot - keep them coming.

Here is yet another sunset along Lake Michigan. It was very windy, and I needed to hold the tripod down. This is when you are glad to have a nice sturdy tripod. My old one would never have worked for this... the camera shake would have been to much for a long exposure.

I have to say I really like your pictures. While I sometimes find sunrise/sunset shots on internet forums a bit boring, as most of them look quite similar (or maybe because we don't have sunsets in the mountains), you always manage to get great images by bringing interesting elements in the picture. The composition on this one is really wonderful, with the icy rocks and the nice hazy look of the water. It's one thing to be near the lake with a camera during a nice sunset, but another to get such a stellar shot out of it.

    Tounis:

Thank you for the very kind words. I am just lucky to live where I do. But I must admit, I would love the opportunity to be able to get some mountain shots like the you folks in Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Canada, Rockies area of U.S., etc. Someday when I get the time, my wife and I will plan a trip to get som nice mountain shots.

You live in a beautiful area, and I appreciate you sharing the great views and the compositions you come up with.
