Don't leave home without it. I can only think it ill be invaluable for any interior shots. I was mad at myself for going to the UK without a fast, wide zoom like a 17-55 f2.8. If I had had the 6D with me, the 24-105 f4 would have been just fine. As it was I got by with that lens, but there were many shots I didn't take just because I needed 6400 ISO or higher to get them and I knew it would be a lost cause with the 7D.

That is impressive. What did you do for noise reduction, and what shutter speed was that taken at?

I really want to go FF bad (need my twins to graduate from college soon), and you are not helping me resist the temptation.

That was 1/30s and I added no additional NR. All the NR was handled by the camera with the Scene Mode set to Handheld Night Scene. All I did was crop to remove my wife's moving (and hence blurred) hand and I cloned out a long hair that was falling across her face and mouth.

That is very impressive low light performance, particularly in the Handheld Night Scene.

Hi, I thought I'd share a few more cold ones. We've had a really cold and windy period and the splashing waves have created some cool ice sculptures on rocks, poles or whatever has been within reach of the waves. I haven't had much camera time lately but still I did bring the camera for a couple of walks in my neighborhood.

The first and the second one is from last weekend when the Baltic Sea was still splashing.

The other ones are from this weekend and now there's no more splashing.

    Thanks for viewing!

Brrr. Hope you had a good set of cleats on your feet. No fun falling in that water.

    Great pics. Especially the sunset.

Love the B&W above, Pat. Nicely done.

Here is another shot of ice. This guy walked out there to pose for some guy with a camera. Evidently this guy was a disposable model... after this he climbed up on the light with waves crashing over the end.

Nice shot of the loony, Pat.

Last time we were in Frankfort it was well above 95F. We were melting just trying to walk around the beach and town.
